I started to try tattooing in 2004, while working at Red Lobster full time. On my days off I would drive up to the tattoo shop about once or twice a week and hang out, (because it was 56.2 miles away, but they gave me a chance) and tattoo people who were willing to help me learn. I would tattoo my friends at my house and their house. Eventually I started going to the shop about 3 days a week, but still on my days off or after work. Then I started to work mornings at Red Lobster and nights at the tattoo shop.
In 2009 about seven years ago, I started tattooing full time, but that was the beginning of the next part of my journey. I started tattooing in people's houses and motel rooms until I could find a spot to set up and be professional, as I do not enjoy tattooing in anyone's home (always need to be clean). Rather be in my studio, with all the right equipment and lighting. So i busted my butt and put in man hours of promoting and walking around passing out cards trying to spread the word of my art. Eventually it started paying off and people started getting tattooed more often. Thankfully I started to become booked up. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to travel to many different places and tattoo. I have won many awards at different tattoo conventions around the United States as well as traveling internationally to Canada and to Australia.Been a incredible journey.
Since then I have tried my best for every person who has given me a chance to create a piece of art. I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to tattoo everyone of you! You have been a big part of my journey.
Everyone who knows me knows my driving force is my family. When I am not at the studio I am home with them. I have 3 children 2 daughters and one son. I am grateful that after all these years I am finally able to have a more flexible schedule and to be able to be there for all the special moments in their lives. I coach all three of their soccer teams, my daughters play competitively, while my son is still young and plays recreational. Before work and school I volunteer to help with a running club at their elementary school as well as give students their reading tests before class starts. Keeps me busy but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Thank you for your years of trust and commitment! Since you all have came around and started wearing my tattoos proudly, it helps me to see how far I have come. Truly, it makes me happy to know that people look forward to having one of my tattoos. I am grateful and thankful, Hard work does pay off!
